By Roger Stone The controversy regarding preparations for voter fraud being made by the pro-Obama labor front group ACORN is not surprising. The Consumer League has now revealed four sworn affidavits signed by former ACORN employees alleging more widespread fraud at the national so-called antipoverty group. ACORN is under investigation for voter fraud in several states. Republican congressional leaders last week called for a halt to federal funding of ACORN-affiliated projects. The FBI has now launched a probe of ACORN and the STONEzone has confirmed that ACORN director, Bertha Lewis, is the subject of that investigation. Sources say that Lewis' claims that ACORN has attempted to weed-out fraudulent voter registrations and duplicate voter registration applications, can be proven to be false and direct evidence of Lewis' complicity in illegal activities is in the hands of Federal investigators. The former ACORN officials allege that federal funds granted to the ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC) - a non-profit tax exempt organization - were used for the partisan purposes of its political action committee. This official arm of the Obama campaign must be cut off from federal funds now. ACORN - an umbrella group of dozens of nonprofits that supposedly advocate for housing and job programs for the poor, but actually just pads the voter rolls with new registrants, many of whom are fraudulent, has endorsed Obama through its political action committee. The group claims to have registered 1.3 million new voters this year and received $800,000 from Obama's campaign to get out the vote in the closing weeks of the US presidential campaign. The Obama campaign misreported this $800,000 expenditure first claiming it was for "staging and lighting" and only later admitted under media pressure it was to register new voters. Released were sworn statements from former ACORN employees Sharon Trotter of New Mexico, Steve Fussell of New Orleans, Andrew Johnson of Chicago, and Glenda Kizee of Houston. Trotter served as AHC Regional Director, Fussell as a campaign organizer, Johnson as a Foreclosure Avoidance Counselor, and Kizee as an ACORN board member and an AHC employee. Their affidavits can be seen at www.StoneZone.com. All four of the former employees charge that AHC and ACORN have co-mingled funds, AHC has directly funded ACORN, ACORN occupied AHC-funded office space, and more. All four also stated, "I have seen the methods of AHC and ACORN and am deeply concerned about unethical and clearly inappropriate activities have occurred and continue to occur." They pushed banks to issue subprime mortgages to unqualified buyers. They lobbied Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and got their Congressional pals like Barney Frank and Chuck Schumer to lower banking credit standards. They mix social engineering with financial decisions, giving mortgages to poor people and minorities who could not afford them. ACORN, Obama, Frank and Schumer and their other left-wing buddies bought down the American Economy by pushing this crazy left-wing agenda. Now, they're pulling out all the stops to assure an Obama victory in November.

Recap of ACORN's activities:

  • ACORN submitted allegedly false or duplicate voter registration applications this year in a number of states
  • On October 18, the Los Angeles Times reported that voters contacted by The Times said they were tricked into switching parties while signing what they believed were petitions for tougher penalties against child molesters
  • ACORN is being investigated by the Feds--between 12-15 states are now involved--for massive voter fraud
  • The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) recently cut off its over $1.1 million in funding for the left-wing community organizing group ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), citing a million-dollar embezzlement case
  • Rather than investigating alleged voter registration fraud, the Barack Obama campaign wants the Justice Department to investigate those who have sounded the alarm. And if that fraud exists - which the Obama campaign belittles - they want any investigations delayed until after the election is over and the damage is done
  • As the Obama campaign's first letter claimed on Oct. 17, "Voter registration impropriety does not constitute actual vote fraud. "It asserts that registration concerns are "manufactured allegations of fraud."
  • The Obamans disagree with law enforcement in at least a dozen states that are probing fake registrations (under names as spurious as "Mickey Mouse") and who have raided and searched ACORN offices.
  • Voting four times in 1868 was nothing compared to 2008. One Ohio man says ACORN pressured him to sign 72 different voter registration cards over an 18-month span. (He could have topped the man who voted 37 times in an old 1940 movie, "The Great McGinty," thanks to lack of voter ID.)
  • Obama was successfully pushing for a major expansion of assistance to ACORN, and sending still more money ACORN's way from his post as board chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
  • Oct. 30 2007 -- "Nightmare on Bleeker St." Rally: ACORN calls for mass cockroach genocide as second-class citizen renters stand idly by.
  • Aug. 18 2007 -- "People's Platform" Rally: ACORN has the audacity to give overlooked citizens a voice, encouraging their nutty need for a minimum wage of $10/hour.
  • Mar. 13 2008 -- Mechanicsville Horror: ACORN rallies for a four-way stop to be implemented at a busy intersection surrounded homes with no yards, to coddle children without the common sense to stay indoors.
  • Mar. 27 2008 -- "Flashlight Party": ACORN shone some light on the need for safer streets alongside Dawes Rd tenants wielding dangerous flashlights.
  • June 3 2008 -- ACORN vs Slumlords (round 1,000,000): ACORN attacked a prominent property management company, accusing them of a penchant for rat feces, water leakage and drains with no covers on them.
  • Ad Nauseum -- Payday Loans: True to their M.O., ACORN insufferably lobbies for the enforcement of criminal charges on lenders that reasonably charge over 60 per cent interest on loans.
  • ACORN calls itself a "nonpartisan" group seeking to register minorities and the poor. But its political arm has endorsed Barack Obama, who both trained the group's staff and sued the state of Illinois on their behalf. And Obama's campaign has given ACORN affiliates $800,000 for a get-out-the-vote drive.
  • A list of government funding of ACORN released by Boehner reveals that some $31 million in taxpayer dollars have been given to the group since 1998. Using Federal Register records, Boehner found ACORN got the money through 54 individual grants in 11 different states
  • The New York Times reported that ACORN's activities "...may have led to violations of federal laws... potentially improper use of charitable dollars for political purposes; money transfers among the affiliates; and potential conflicts created by employees working for multiple affiliates..."
  • Democrats added their misguided ACORN slush fund to the Fannie/Freddie bailout that passed the Democrat Congress this summer. And when Congress considered the emergency financial rescue package in September, Democrats once again tried to reward their troubled and legally-challenged ally, this time with a 20 percent taxpayer kick-back. Their record could not be clearer...
  • May 22, 2007: The U.S. House of Representatives votes on an amendment to strip the ACORN slush fund from a housing reform bill (Roll Call 392). 155 Republicans vote YES 224 Democrats vote NO
  • ACORN has an especially dubious history concerning both election fraud and misuse of federal funds.
  • Several ACORN workers have been indicted and/or convicted of voter registration fraud with phony signatures. In Washington State, seven ACORN employees were indicted in what the Democratic Secretary of State called the worst case of voter fraud in the state's history.
