Mike Huckabee's Campaign Manager Ed Rollins was telling reporters that "he wanted to cut John McCain off at the knees in Florida" but that his candidate over-ruled him. Good thing the candidate has more brains than his Campaign Manager. Mike Huckabee's campaign for Vice President is continuing apace and aggravating front runner John McCain is not part of the game-plan. Huckabee drew votes from former Governor Mitt Romney in Florida and is poised to do so again in the Deep South on February 5th where his campaigning has focused on Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. While Huck may be attractive to Evangelical Conservatives who have reservations about McCain, his inclusion on the ticket would not nullify Washington based Conservative Leaders who consider McCain a liberal and Huckabee a populist. Huck is building delegate strength to make himself the obvious choice for Vice President.
