Roger Stone, a veteran of 13 national Republican presidential campaigns and former campaign adviser to Donald Trump, said the former president’s influence has fundamentally transformed the Republican Party at the grassroots level.
“We are now the working-class party of America first, and Trump’s dominance of the party is unlike anything I’ve seen in 45 years of American politics,” Stone said Wednesday on Newmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance.”
Drawing comparisons to his experience working for former President Ronald Reagan, Stone highlighted the unparalleled strength Trump wields within the party.
“Even the great Ronald Reagan never had strength like this,” Stone said.
Stone expressed a sense of urgency, saying the Republican Party is currently squandering time and resources by holding debates, asserting that the GOP’s nominee is obvious and inevitable.
“If you look at the general election data, he clearly also happens to be our strongest candidate,” Stone said. “In other words, the candidate with the best chance of beating Joe Biden or whoever they choose to replace him.”
