Trump’s Middle East Breakthrough Will Create a Golden Age…If Republicans Don’t Mess It Up

For the past several days, President Donald Trump has been greeted with open arms by the Arab world. Trump was greeted to a heroes welcome in Qatar. He was given an overwhelming ovation in Saudi Arabia. The immense amount of goodwill created during these trips cannot be overstated.

In Ridayh, Trump gave a historic speech against neoconservatism, foreign intervention, nation building and failed U.S. military interventionism in the Middle East.

“Before our eyes, a new generation of leaders is transcending the ancient conflicts and tired divisions of the past and forging a future where the Middle East is defined by commerce, not chaos,” Trump said. “Where people of different nations, religions, and creeds are building cities together, not bombing each other out of existence.”

“It is crucial for the wider world to note that this great transformation has not come from Western intervention or flying people in on beautiful planes, giving you lectures on how to live and govern your own affairs,” Trump continued. “No! The gleaming marvels of Riyadh were not created by the nation-builders or liberal nonprofits, like those who spent trillions of dollars failing to develop Kabul, Baghdad, and so many other cities.”

“In the end, the so-called nation-builders wrecked far more nations than they built, and the interventionists were intervening in complex societies that they didn’t understand themselves,” Trump said. “They told you how to do it, but they had no idea how to do it themselves.”

So it should come as no surprise that Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate have immediately snapped into action to attempt to undermine Trump’s diplomatic breakthrough and bring the country closer to another war in the Middle East. 177 House Republican members and every Senate Republican except Rand Paul of Kentucky issued a letter to President Trump mongering fear about the Iran nuclear canard to the administration.

“We write to express our strong support for your efforts to secure a deal with Iran that dismantles its nuclear program, and to reinforce the explicit warnings that you and officials in your administration have issued that the regime must permanently give up any capacity for enrichment,” the letter reads.

“We cannot afford another agreement that enables Iran to play for time… The Iranian regime should know that the administration has Congressional backing to ensure its ability to enrich uranium is permanently eliminated,” the letter continues.

For over twenty years, Iran has been just on the verge of getting a nuclear bomb. These alarmist predictions never seem to materialize, but that does not stop Republicans from fear-mongering constantly and pressing for increased hostilities as a result of their unsubstantiated suspicions. Like Iraq’s supposed “Weapons of Mass Destruction,” Iran’s nuclear program is the excuse to launch a new war in the Middle East, which is the fantasy of many GOP warmongers.

Republican neocon Senators Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina are pushing a plan based on the Libya model where Iran will be expected to give up their weapon-making capability based on the good faith of the military-industrial complex. Considering what happened to Muammar Gaddafi after he complied with globalist demands and disarmed his country, it should come as no surprise that Iran is not exactly thrilled at this proposal.

The neocons are growing increasingly scared because they are losing the battle within the Trump administration. Trump special envoy Steve Witzkoff, who has emerged as the most important diplomatic agent in the administration, said that the “neocon element believes that war is the only way to solve things” and criticized the neocons for giving “no consideration whatsoever on what the consequences are” for their relentless warmongering.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a long-time critic of the military-industrial complex, stated during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing that the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.” It is clear the neocons are terrified that voices of reason are influencing Trump and becoming more desperate to promote the War Party agenda.

President Trump is clearly going to have to drag much of the Republican Party kicking and screaming into the America First era, but that will not be a problem from his end. Trump is the perfect man for the job with the mindset to ignore the ceaseless bureaucratic haranguing and continue to plunge boldly ahead to forge a new path. Trump has the perfect people by his side to accomplish these goals. This is why the Arab nations are giddy with excitement. A better world is now possible with U.S. foreign policy moving away from interventionism and toward peace and prosperity. The golden age of MAGA has begun.
