Michael McMahon is a distinguished decorated New York City Police Department sergeant who served New Yorkers with honor during the most dangerous years of crime in America’s largest city. After retiring from the Department he continued to serve through honest work as a private investigator in New Jersey. His alleged crime was nothing more than accepting an assignment that involved surveillance for clients he had no reason to believe were connected to Beijing’s sinister campaign known as Operation Fox Hunt. He took photographs. He observed movements. He performed lawful investigative work that private investigators across America perform every single day. Yet the Department of Justice twisted these routine tasks into a theatrical display of espionage and conspiracy. They smeared him as if he were an enemy of the state and railroaded him into a false conviction. They sent McMahon to prison while the true traitors of our Republic walk free.
At the center of the fight for this innocent man’s rights and freedom stands his wife, actress and author Martha Byrne. She has shown a courage that can only be described as incandescent. She has written, spoken, and now documented this calamity in her book “In the Interest of Justice” which exposes the corruption and cruelty of a system that chews up the innocent to protect the guilty. Her work is not only the voice of a devoted wife but a battle cry for justice in America. Justice for all.
Now let us examine the hypocrisy that reeks from the walls of Washington. While Michael McMahon is punished as if he were a foreign agent serving his prison sentence the real enemies of America are shielded and protected. Bureaucrats twist the law into a weapon to destroy ordinary men while ignoring the corruption festering in their own ranks. The regime rewards loyalty to the swamp and punishes loyalty to the truth.
Meanwhile Michael McMahon who never leaked a classified secret, never took a foreign bribe, never obstructed justice…yet he was shackled and treated as if he were a dangerous traitor. This is lawfare in its most malignant form. I know these tactics because I lived them. When Robert Mueller’s inquisition targeted me they buried exculpatory evidence. They twisted facts beyond recognition. They produced fabrications born of pure deceit. Later the unredacted Mueller Report revealed my innocence and proved what I had said all along. I was innocent. The process itself is the punishment. And Michael McMahon is enduring that same punishment today. The exculpatory evidence withheld from McMahon and his defense team would most certainly have proved his undoubted innocence. But it would also have exposed the malicious and corrupt conduct of the FBI and the Justice Department themselves. I emphasize greatly with McMahon because I have been where he is and I know exactly how he feels. No American should ever be living in fear of their own government.
The architects of this injustice are the career Comey loyalists who still infest the FBI like termites in the foundation of our Republic. They are dangerous people. They are subversive people. They crucify men like McMahon because he is easy to destroy and they believe no one will fight for him. They must not only be removed from power but prosecuted for their corruption and their betrayal of the American people.
President Donald J. Trump must act. He alone has the courage to strike at the heart of this Leviathan. A pardon for Michael McMahon is not mercy. It is true justice. He was innocent all along, just like I was. It is the repudiation of selective prosecution. It is the restoration of fairness in a nation that has forgotten what fairness means.
Martha Byrne’s voice must be heard. Her book is a beacon. It is a rallying cry for every American who has ever felt the crushing weight of government tyranny and for those Americans who have not (yet) suffered the same fates as McMahon and me. She is right to demand her husband’s freedom. The American people must stand beside her.
Michael McMahon is fighting not just for his own freedom but for the very soul of American justice. His case proves that the law can be twisted into a weapon. His suffering is proof that the deep state will stop at nothing to destroy those who cannot defend themselves. President Trump must pardon Michael McMahon and in so doing deliver a thunderous message that justice is not dead in America.
