A fake news narrative being circulated is that President Donald Trump is some kind of hypocrite because he removed Nicolas Maduro as Venezuelan dictator while subsequently pardoning former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who had been extradited to the U.S. and then was found guilty of drug trafficking crimes. President Trump addressed the concern during a press conference this weekend.
President Trump said: “He [Hernández] was persecuted very unfairly by Biden. He was treated like the Biden administration treated a man named Trump… The people of Honduras really thought he was set up and it was a terrible thing […] I looked at the facts and I agreed with them… Obviously, the people liked what I did. He’s also a party member of the man who won. That man was persecuted and treated very badly. That’s why I gave him a pardon.”

This was done because of collusion between the Biden/Harris regime and the Xiomara Castro regime of Honduras. Xiomara Castro was the pro-Maduro socialist government that was just booted from Honduras, her LIBRE Party is being replaced with Juan Orlando Hernandez’s National Party by voters. So the pardon of Juan Orlando Hernandez is completely congruent with the removal of Maduro from power.
