Billionaires Prepare for Populist Revolt

America’s tech billionaires are suddenly warning about AI-driven inequality — not necessarily because they have become populists, but because they can see the pitchforks coming from the millions who may be displaced and left jobless in this new economy.

The artificial intelligence boom is set to unleash a wave of prosperity, potentially creating the world’s class trillionaires. But what is good for the plutocrats might not be so good for the rest of us. The growing angst against AI has energized the radical left, where politicians are calling for wealth taxes, data-center taxes, and new government programs to redistribute the gains. Some tech elites are offering their own alternatives in an attempt to fend them off.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has suggested the bottom half of earners should pay no federal income tax. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has pushed ideas like universal basic income and “universal basic compute,” giving people access to AI tools instead of just government checks.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has floated “universal high income,” arguing automation could generate enough wealth to support broad prosperity. OpenAI has even proposed a New Deal-style framework including a public wealth fund, taxes on AI-driven returns, and a four-day workweek. But even as the tech elites offer concessions, Democrats are set on exploiting the crisis to push for their ultimate goal of expanding government power. Sen. Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren is demanding an expansive new tax regime.

California unions are pushing wealth-destroying taxes to punish the successful. The only movement that provides a lasting solution to AI-driven inequality and job losses is MAGA. By opening up true free market competition, reducing taxes on workers, unleashing energy abundance, providing skills training, and allowing ordinary Americans to build wealth, AI can empower citizens.

We must not become luddites and resist technology. But we must also realize that corporations must serve the national interest. The people come first before profits. That slogan may be exploited by left-wing demagogues, but only MAGA can truly deliver on putting the people and the worker first.
