Newsom Strikes Back Against Election Integrity

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a new law meant to prevent federal efforts to ensure election integrity. Senate Bill 73, written by Democratic state Senators Sabrina Cervantes and Tom Umberg, immediately blocks anyone — including federal agents — from accessing voter rolls or election technology without a court order.

It also limits law enforcement contact with election workers unless there is a public safety emergency and makes it a crime to knowingly remove voted ballots from election officials’ custody. This crackdown will prevent oversight as the Trump administration seriously investigates allegations of widespread voter fraud that had previously been swept under the rug for years. Newsom signed the bill just days before California’s June 2 statewide primary, framing it as a direct warning to those who “do the bidding” of the Trump administration.

The White House flatly rejected the suggestion that President Trump plans to disrupt lawful election administration or intimidate voters. Officials made the point that the president is committed to election integrity and restoring public confidence. California Democrats are attempting to use President Trump to resist common sense measures that are supported by an overwhelming majority of the population.

They are also considering a measure that would essentially criminalize citizen journalism by giving broad protections to government officials and nonprofits, shielding them from public scrutiny under the guise of protecting them from harassment.

As the Trump administration shines the light on Democrats, they become more brazen and prove the fact that they are fraudsters knowingly running a gangster government. The Trump administration must be willing to exercise its authority and do what they deem necessary to ensure election integrity regardless of Newsom’s partisan posturing.
