“HERE COMES DA JUDGE”- TRUMP GETS READY TO NAME HIS FIRST JUSTICE

(By Roger Stone) As President Donald J Trump prepares to make his first appointment with the US Supreme Court, I favor the appointment Judge Andrew Napolitano to this vital post. Some critics sneer and point out that Napolitano was “only a state judge”, are perhaps oblivious to the fact that Benjamin Cardozo, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Earl Warren, William Brennan, Sandra Day O’Connor, David Souter all served with distinction after previous careers as state court judges.

Napolitano a close friend and protégé of Supreme Court Justice Anton Scalia is precisely the libertarian conservative, President Trump needs as the left wing of the court seeks to block Trumps transformation of America. President Trump needs need a “right wing court” that will focus on social issues but more precisely he needs a “Trump Court” that will be tough on law and order and immigration policy and is committed to the transformation he is working to orchestrate. Napolitano is the best man for this job.

Napolitano on air “prosecution” of Hilary’s crimes in understandable constitutional and legal terms on FOX were both illuminating and brilliant. He was appointed to the New Jersey Superior Court by Governor Thomas H Kean. He currently is a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School. He makes the constitution understandable with both with and brilliance.

President Trump says he feels compelled to choose his justice from a list he released during the campaign, having made a pledge to do so.  While I respect the Presidents view I do think Napolitano is well within the philosophical criteria of the list the president could consider and choose the FOX TV analyst and distinguished former New Jersey Judge.

This is not to in any way denigrate the men and women who are on the list, which the Trump campaign compiled with the assistance of Heritage Foundation. The list is, however not very diverse. The judges on the list are all solid conservatives but establishment conservatives.

Judge Thomas Hardigan is a Federal Judge on the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia. Young, dynamic and conservative Hardigan is a close friend of Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, the President’s sister who President Ronald Reagan appointed to the federal bench. Hardigan would be a strong choice.

Unfortunately there are many fine jurists who should have also been on that list;

Judge Janice Rogers Brown a distinguished African-American jurist; conservative/libertarian; US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit; she has never hesitated to put administrative agencies in their place.

Judge Jose Cabranes who is Hispanic is a common sense conservative on the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in New York. He is very pro-police, and traditionalist.

Judge Alex Kozinski was born to a Jewish family in Bucharest Romania in July 1950. In 1962, when he was 12, his parents, Holocaust survivors, brought him to the United States; Kozinski is serious libertarian; Chief Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the ninth Circuit in San Francisco. Kozinski very much like Justice Scalia in intellect, personality, temperament, and wit.

Judge Reggie Walton; African-American serves on the US District Court for the District of Columbia; former head of the FISA Court; national security hawk; member of the FISA Court who is sometimes skeptical of the government’s claims.

Former Judge J. Michael Luttig, formerly U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, now General Counsel to Boeing; clerked for Justice Scalia; as a judge sent many of his law clerks to clerk for Justice Scalia: conservative/traditionalist, very close to Justice Scalia’s thinking; resigned from the bench because the GW Bush Department of Justice was trashing the Constitution and disobeying the courts.

If the president exercises his prerogative and insists on selecting someone from the “list” the best choice may be Judge Don Willet of Texas. A Justice on the Supreme Court of Texas by appointment of Republican Governor Rick Perry, Willet is a Libertarian leaning conservative, protector of Civil Liberties and as a skeptic of big government is a judicial advocate for personal freedom.

Whoever President Trump selects will have my full support in my fight for confirmation.
