Just days before the Obama Presidential Center is scheduled to open, contractors and subcontractors say they are still waiting to be fully paid—raising fresh questions about a project already plagued by soaring costs and broken promises. Several firms claim losses ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars after building the monstrous eyesore designed specifically to be offensive to the senses.
Adamson Plumbing president Mike Owen says his company is owed roughly $4 million, while the African American Contractors Association warns that multiple black-owned businesses are facing financial strain. It turns out that the man with deep, deep Kenyan ties does not look out for the American black community. Go figure. Meanwhile, the center’s estimated price tag has exploded from $330 million to more than $850 million, with the final cost undisclosed. Annual operating expenses are projected at about $40 million.
The Obama Foundation gained control of public land in Jackson Park for just $10 under a 99-year agreement. In return, it promised a major endowment to protect taxpayers from future costs, but that was all hogwash to initiate their massive grift. Illinois Republican Party Chairman Robert Grogan has noted that the fund remains around $1 million—far short of the hundreds of millions originally discussed. The foundation insists the center is fully funded through private donations and says major endowment investments will come later, but taxpayers have heard promises like that before and they usually amount to diddly squat.
When politically connected vanity projects run over budget, contractors go unpaid, and financial guarantees remain vague, the taxpayer is left holding the bag. Chicagoans deserve to know who is owed money, what is the true final cost, and where is the promised endowment? Barack Hussein Obama continues to act like a thuggish crook even after being gone for a decade with his legacy erased by DJT. He must be bitter that all of his hard work, inspired by his drunken dead-beat lowlife trash father, failed in destroying the country.
Nevertheless, Obama should be imprisoned not only for his corrupt dealings regarding his Presidential Center, but also for Russia-gate, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and a whole host of other scandals that happened during his reign of terror that we are still healing from.
