ROGER STONE SAYS THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH TAKING ELECTION CONCERNS TO COURT

Roger Stone Politico

The conservative firebrand says Harris’ campaign is outspending Trump, but there’s “no evidence” it’s moving voters.

We’re chatting with lawmakers, former elected officials and political operatives to get a better sense of where people’s heads are at — and what their candidate needs to be doing better.

Today we talked to Roger Stone, the conservative operative who became a key early adviser for Donald Trump — and then amplified false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Stone was sentenced to 40 months behind bars for lying to lawmakers investigating Russia’s influence on the 2016 election. But Trump commuted his sentence before it was set to start and later pardoned him.

Here’s our chat, edited for length and clarity:

What are you most worried about?

The repeated claims that Trump’s supporters plan violence in the post-election period is a canard. If there is a legitimate dispute regarding the outcome of the 2024 election, it can only be resolved in the courts, and then only after legitimate evidence of fraud, anomalies, and irregularities are presented. … Efforts by the left to ensure that no attorney is willing to bring even the most legitimate case in the event of election irregularities, under threat of disbarment and personal destruction, are typical of the bully tactics Trump is accused of, but the left actually engages in.

What is the Harris campaign doing well?

Very little… The Harris campaign is heavily outspending Trump, particularly on digital media, and while their production quality is very high, there is no evidence that this paid advertising is moving voters at a time when voter opinions are being affected by free media coverage.

What should the Trump campaign be doing?

Susie Wiles has done an extraordinary job working for a strong candidate who is an independent free spirit. … [She] has brought order, discipline, and structure to this campaign, which did not characterize the president’s previous bids.

Trump must get maximum benefit from his alliance with former Democrat and independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as newly-minted Republican and former [Democratic] Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. Adding the effort to Make America Healthy Again to Trump’s agenda to Make America Great Again is a unique opportunity to bring anti-war millennials, independents, libertarians and pro-capitalism Democrats into the Trump camp.
