Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has held the line like few others against the political pressures of the Washington D.C. swamp, remaining a fierce and tireless advocate for peace as showcased in her recent video denouncing nuclear war.
Gabbard took a tour of Hiroshima, the Japanese city hit with an atomic bomb to bring about an end to the Second World War, and commented on the horrors that linger in that region eight decades later.
“This attack obliterated the city, killed over 300,000 people, many dying instantly while other died from severe burns, injuries, radiation sickness and cancer that set in in the following months and years,” Gabbard said.
Gabbard stated that because nuclear weapons are so advanced in comparison to the 1940s, the devastation that would ensue from a nuclear attack would make the carnage of Hiroshima and Nagasaki pale by comparison.
“As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elites and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers,” Gabbard said.
“Perhaps it’s because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to. So it’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness,” she added.
It should come as no surprise that Gabbard’s common sense proclamation for military de-escalation enraged many neocons in the War Party, particularly commentator Mark Levin and his obsolete anti-Trump acolytes at National Review.
Levin posted an article titled “The Moral Vacuum Overseeing U.S. National Intelligence” on his X account. The screed chides Gabbard for having the audacity to speak out against nuclear war and bringing to light the actual human cost of dropping massive bombs on innocent people.
The author Noah Rothman claimed that by opposing nuclear holocaust Gabbard “languished in the embarrassment that she seems to think should accompany service to this country” and wallowed “in the shame imposed on her by the Greatest Generation.” Instead of voicing her opposition to war, Rothman argued that Gabbard should have issued a full-throated endorsement of U.S. imperial dominance, and the fact that she did not proves the Clinton-esque slur that she is in bed with the Rooskies.
“It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that what has inspired Gabbard to impugn her country’s integrity and terrorize the public she serves is the fact that Moscow has proven impervious to Donald Trump’s charms,” Rothman said, arguing that “Trump’s peace overtures and concessions to Russia have failed to dissuade Moscow from pursuing its territorial ambitions with violence.”
“In the conspiracist’s mind, Russia’s recalcitrance is evidence only that American perfidy is even worse than we previously knew,” Rothman added.
The answer, according to Rothman, is more U.S. taxpayer aid being funneled into Ukraine to elongate the war, provoke Russia and increase the likelihood of World War 3.
“This video was an act of historical vandalism, a campaign of emotional manipulation that makes collateral damage of America’s legitimacy. And why? Only to intimidate the president and the American public out of standing up to the land-hungry despot in Moscow? Craven doesn’t begin to describe it,” Rothman said.
Neocons like Levin and Rothman have been all in on the globalist Ukraine project since its outset. Speaking of “historical vandalism,” Levin once claimed Ukrainian welfare thug Volodymyr Zelensky was the modern-day equivalent of George Washington and said he “will be remembered for 1000 years” for his heroism.
Even after Zelensky has been exposed definitively as a cocaine-addled swindler, Levin is not phased. Just as after he was proven wrong about the disastrous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Levin never pauses for introspection. He never hesitates to rush America headlong into the next conflict, this time with Iran.
Levin has been propagandizing against Iran for decades, recently attempting to push Trump in the direction of supporting war with Iran. After the deadly precision strikes against Iran by Israel, the chance for dramatic escalation is at an all-time high. The neocons will be in Trump’s ear urging America to intervene and initiate regime change in Iran, creating another quagmire like what happened in Iraq. Gabbard’s voice in the administration is more important than ever.
Gabbard remains a major impediment to neocon warmongering, and she serves in one of the most powerful roles in the Trump administration. Because of her vigilance, it will be more difficult for the deep state to fabricate the evidence needed to draw America into another forever war. Levin and his cohorts understand this reality, and they are throwing pedantic tantrums as a result of their growing futility. May the America First movement be fueled by their delicious tears.
