After the shocking victory of far-left socialist Zohran Mamdani in the Democrat primary for New York City Mayor, many conservatives are panicking and believing that it is time to circle the wagons around current Mayor Eric Adams as he could save the city from the ethnic wrath of Zohran.
The race is currently between Mamdani; Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, running as a Republican; disgraced former governor Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent; and the incumbent Mayor Adams who is also running as an independent. It is difficult to fathom how Mamdani could lose if all of these men are on the ballot splitting the vote, prompting calls for some of the contenders to drop out.
The conventional wisdom is that the incumbent is the most viable challenger of the field to potentially defeat Mamdani. Adams has been making overtures to conservatives, appearing at a recent fundraising event held by the Fort Lauderdale Young Republicans where he recorded a podcast interview with popular influencer Patrick Bet-David. Adams sees the way the political winds are blowing and is hoping to capitalize on that MAGA momentum to elongate his career.
Patriots who get aboard the Adams train are being played for fools. He was never the victim of a deep state conspiracy. Adams was elected as an anti-Trump Democrat who pledged to let illegal immigrants run wild, and he quickly enacted a thugocracy after securing power. Adams’ various scandals have been well-earned, and he will likely be behind bars in the near future. He is only running for Mayor as a gambit to keep himself out of jail.
Adams was indicted in Sept. 2024 on public corruption felony charges spanning a decade, stemming from kickbacks he received to influence his decision-making when he was a Brooklyn Borough president. Damian Williams, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, stated that Adams “engaged in a long-running conspiracy” where he was taking contributions from Turkish foreign agents “even though he knew they were illegal.” These illegal campaign contributions are believed to be in excess of $10 million. In news that should come as a shock to no one, Adams was for sale and open to pay-to-play schemes to enrich himself and further his ambitions.
“As alleged, Mayor Adams abused his position as this City’s highest elected official, and before that as Brooklyn Borough President, to take bribes and solicit illegal campaign contributions. By allegedly taking improper and illegal benefits from foreign nationals—including to allow a Manhattan skyscraper to open without a fire inspection—Adams put the interests of his benefactors, including a foreign official, above those of his constituents. This Office and our partners at the FBI and DOI will continue to pursue corruption anywhere in this City, especially when that corruption takes the form of illegal foreign influence on our democratic system,” said U.S. Attorney Williams.
Adams leadership style has bled down through the ranks of city government. Adams’ Police Commissioner resigned in disgrace after it was discovered by the FBI that his twin brother was running a protection racket on restaurants and nightclubs, threatening them with retribution from the New York City Police Department and New York City Code Enforcement if they didn’t pay up. Adams’ Fire Commissioner had to resign after she attempted to purge veteran white males from the fire department. Adams’ School Chancellor resigned after his cell phone was seized in a federal raid. The NYC Sheriff’s office is under investigation for allegedly pilfering money seized from a network of illegal cannabis shops.
We know Adams by the fruits of what his administration has produced, and those fruits are indeed very rotten. Adams has assembled an all-star roster of hoodlums, fraudsters, crooks, wokesters, malcontents and lowlifes to serve under him. With Adams as head honcho, they felt they had a mandate to rob the people and abuse their authority. Adams has barely been able to hang on despite the bevy of evidence against him, and it is incomprehensible for conservatives to consider supporting this man over fear of Mamdani.
The reality is that Mamdani winning New York City will be the greatest thing that could possibly happen for Republicans during next year’s midterms. It would be a glimpse into what the future could be for the nation under socialist control. New York City would certainly be in for a world of hurt for a short period, but then could bounce back to a rule-of-law Mayor in the mold of Rudy Giuliani when Mamdani fails abysmally. There is no need to compromise principles, lose credibility, and prop up a reprehensible dirtbag. Let Adams fail, and then the rebuilding of New York City may begin with a Mayor worthy of the title after Mamdani’s inevitable flameout.
